Thirteen Strings Chamber Orchestra’s education project, the Junior Thirteen Strings, gives a unique chance for young string players to perform with the orchestra. Following an audition process, the young players are invited to play one concert with Thirteen Strings during the regular concert season. The program also provides a very special opportunity to receive coachings from the principal players of the orchestra and from conductor Kevin Mallon. The Junior Thirteen Strings have also played for the Ottawa Viennese Winter Ball, at the Austrian Embassy for the orchestra’s garden party and also several times as part of the Music and Beyond festival – at the Ottawa Family, Music Expo, an event for young people and alongside the professional members of the orchestra in an evening concert.
