“Her splendid playing always delights. Yet it is in her invitational style of leadership that she brings the orchestra to perform with precision, joy and sparking musicality.” David Richards

Join us for a truly special concert as we welcome the brilliant Italian violinist Elisa Citterio—former Music Director of Tafelmusik and now a distinguished professor of Baroque violin and viola at the Mozarteum University in Salzburg.

For the first time, she takes the stage with Thirteen Strings, bringing her trademark artistry and depth to a vibrant program of Italian Baroque music that explores the full spectrum of human passion.

Don’t miss this unforgettable performance, where virtuosity meets emotion.

“The Intention of Music is not only to please the Ear, but to express Sentiments, strike the Imagination, affect the Mind and command the Passions.”

Nothing has changed since Francesco Geminiani wrote these words in the Preface of “Art of Playing on the Violin” in 1751.

Today more than ever the human soul thirsts for passions and emotions, it needs to be touched by an art that, despite the race towards the digitization of today’s world, expresses the best of itself in the live performance as an unrepeatable and unique moment.

Each piece of music is born from a moment of inspiration dictated by a movement of the soul and in this program, I tried to pair musical pages with a strong expressive message, sometimes immortalized by a title chosen by the composer himself.

The ultimate desire of every interpreter/performer is that the listener leaves the concert hall a little enriched in the soul just as it happens to the musician himself.

Happy listening!
